ERWIN'S LAW

for Protection of Sexual Abuse

Erwin's fight to make a law that protects children and be taught in public schools.

MOST UNNOTICED EFFECTS

INCURRED

BY SEXUAL ABUSE

These are some issues that stem from different forms of sexual abuse that might go unnoticed by survivors of sexual abuse

and MOST ALWAYS by both Mental Health counselors

and all Medical field staff (incl. Doctors/Nurses).

Here is a short list of a few. More will be added in time:

ORAL ABUSE -

Dental Care; Brushing Teeth

Dental Visits/procedures

Claustrophobia

Depending on the age of the initial abuse, often there is

issues with one brushing or caring for their teeth and issues during dental procedures due to the trauma and the brutal force

of this occurrence.

When attending dental procedures for basic cleanings or other procedures, I recommend letting your dentist know of this matter to help ease the experience. It has helped me greatly.

One main issue is gagging whenever an instrument

goes near the back of the throat.

As well, due to the trauma and the brutal force

caused by this form of sexual abuse, both the teeth formation and gums issues can also occur as time moves on.

Another issue caused by this form of sexual abuse

is feeling suffocated, as in claustrophobia.
